"The Carol Burnett Show"
For 11 years, Carol Burnett’s Emmy award winning variety show set the standard for television sketch comedy. Amadeus Community Theatre (ACT) will bring some of the best known of these sketches to their stage when they present "The Carol Burnett Show" at their theatre 102 North Main Street in Dickson.
Considered a classic of television, The Carol Burnett Show was known for its original, zany characters and the television and film parodies they presented on the weekly variety show.

These skits are presented exactly the way they appeared on the CBS’ The Carol Burnett Show, without a word changed. The entire production staff and cast of the show have graciously made these scripts available for production, and are donating their share of profits from the sale of this comedy material to the Navajo Indian Children's Scholarship Trust.

Included in this hilarious evening of sketches are such gems as
The Coffee Commercial where two members of the garden club are asked to do a testimonial for coffee, and it ends up a free for all, and
The Wallflowers where two girls endure the worst of agonies, waiting be asked to dance. Also featured will be
Passion on 10th Avenue, where an insanely jealous wife thinks all women are in love with her garbage collector husband, and
Bonnie and Clod, a spoof of the film
Bonnie and Clyde. And as the crowning jewel, the most popular and well-known of all The Carol Burnett Show’s movie parodies,
Gone With The Breeze, featuring Scarlett O’Fever and her dress that must be seen to be believed.
